Digital photography is painting

In the 20th century, notable photographers emerged by replicating classic paintings. With the advent of digital photography, many painters started imitating photographic effects, claiming to produce new abstract art.

Why are painting skills more important than showing directly from the digital file?

My recent project creates new images that contrast the photographic ideas of light, mechanics, and time with the paint, brushes, and effects that turn these files into abstract and pictorial artworks. "Shades of landscape" is a curatorial selection of images I have taken with my phone, and treated as long exposures and multiple exposures to get blurry and colorful abstract files. My interest is to work with photography taking the language of abstract painting and creating an emotional experience for the spectator. If the viewer chooses, they can complete the figurative referent, yet they can still appreciate the color, light, and movement present in each piece.

SHADES has been an encounter with color, movement, and light. I am surprised by the results of my camera, the sum of the pixel,s and the geometry created by the movement captured for a few seconds. The aesthetics of color detonates real images that like memories come to my head trying to explain the abstract space of the work in front of me.
